According to revenue figures from 2019, Deloitte was the biggest of the four companies, with around 46.2 billion U.S. dollars in revenue for that year. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) generated almost 42.4 billion U.S. dollars in revenue in 2019. Ernst & Young (EY) and KPMG, also high rollers in the industry, generated 36.4 and 29.75 billion U.S. dollars in revenue respectively. PwC and EY generate the largest share of their revenue through their audit/assurance branches, while Deloitte and KPMG generate the largest share of their revenue through their advisory/consulting branches.
Each of these four firms employs more than 200,000 people a piece. Deloitte has the most employees at approximately 312,000 and KPMG has the fewest with around 219,000 employees.
