Japan: number of Mount Fuji mountaineers by trail 2023

During the 2023 climbing season, approximately 137.24 thousand people attempted to ascend Mount Fuji using the Yoshida trail. The Yoshida trail starts from the Fuji Subaru line 5th station and provides numerous mountain huts along the way. Apart from the climbing season in summer, trails and huts are closed throughout the year and climbing Mount Fuji is prohibited for people who are not exceptionally experienced mountaineers.

Incomplete data during 2022 season due to technical issues with the measurement gadgets, affecting the Gotenba Route from August 12 to 14, and August 18 to 19, as well as on the Subashiri Route from July 10 to 14.
