Number of immigrant students in upper secondary education in Norway 2012-2022

From 2012 to 2022, the number of students with a foreign background in upper secondary education in Norway increased annually. Both the number of immigrants and the the number of descendants increased. In 2022, there were over 30,000 immigrants and nearly 14,000 descendants registered in upper secondary education in Norway. Upper secondary education is optional in Norway, and more women than men are undertaking upper secondary education.
