In 2023, Macerich owned or partly owned 46 shopping malls in the United States, of which Green Acres Mall in New York was the biggest in terms of gross leasable area. This shopping center, a wholly-owned mall under Macerich, registered around 2.06 million square feet of GLA. Lakewood Center in California, a joint venture center under Macerich, followed closely with 2.05 million square feet of GLA.
