The Indian state of Uttar Pradesh had the highest downloads of the Aarogya Setu app of over 23 million as of March 2021. However, almost half of the population of the state of Chandigarh downloaded the COVID-19 contact tracing app. Aarogya Setu was developed by National Informatics Central with privacy as a key principle.
