Cement capacity: global ranking by country 2022

In 2022, China had the highest cement production capacity in the world by far, at an estimated 1.64 billion metric tons per year (or more). China's cement production capacity included an estimated 1.51 billion metric tons in its integrated cement plants, and a further estimated 124.5 million metric tons per year in its grinding plants.

*China was the world's largest cement producer by far based on installed capacity and production volume in 2021. However, the massive scale of the industry and the likely unreliability of the statistics provided by China means that China's actual cement production capacity is likely much higher than reported. For example, the USGS states that China's cement capacity is approximately 2.5 billion metric tons per year, while other sources estimate it to be up to 3.5 billion metric tons per year.
