Children aged 14 to 17 years in school in South Africa 2014-2018, by type
In 2018, the majority of the children between the ages 14 and 17 were enrolled in public schools, while only 4.8 percent were registered in private schools. Moreover, 2016 was the year with the highest share of children in the age group in private schools. Overall, the shares attending public and private schools were relatively stable throughout the period under review.
