E-commerce as share of total apparel sales in the Netherlands 2018-2025
In the Netherlands, online apparel sales grew substantially as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, e-commerce made up 39 percent of all apparel sales, ten percentage points more than the year before. Although a slight decline was expected in 2021, as the country adapted to the new normal, forecasts suggest that the online segment has come to stay and will continue to gain ground in the coming years.
