In September 2023, Youku Tudou's mobile app saw a 16.5 percent month-over-month decrease in its monthly active users to 207 million. As the Chinese subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) market is getting more crowded with various service providers, Youku Tudou, once a market leader in the arena, has lost its dominance even with the financial support of the Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group.
