In the first three quarters of 2023, Bulgaria was one of the countries in the European Union (EU) with the highest growth rate of construction costs for new residential buildings. The housing construction cost increased on average by 4.4 percent in the EU-27. Finland, Italy, Spain and Austria were the countries with the lowest housing construction costs increase. Meanwhile, the cost of building a home in Malta decreased during that period.
