The source adds the following information: "The map shows the charging points of all providers who have fully completed the notification procedure of the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) and agreed to a release of information online. The Charging Station Decree does not allow for a complete record of the whole German charging station infrastructure. Therefore, the number of publicly accessible charging points in Germany is higher than listed here.”

According to the source, charging stations which are not public are limited to a clearly separated circle of users (e.g. visitor parking spaces in companies, medical practices or hotels), these are not included in the statistic.
