India: share of emerging tech patents filed in U.S. by application area 2021

Between 2015 and 2021, in the area of emerging technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) made up the largest share of 26.6 percent. It was followed by internet of things (IoT) patents with 13.3 percent as the distant second. IoT patents also took the leading spot in terms of growth during the presented period.
