Age and gender breakdown of consumers with outstanding unsecured loans in Japan 2023
As of March 2023, men in their forties accounted for the largest share of consumers with outstanding unsecured loan debt in Japan, at 13.7 percent. Overall, male consumers accounted for 62.9 percent of borrowers, as opposed to 37.1 percent of women.
