Brazil: discouraged job seekers by gender 2022

In 2022, the number of discouraged job seekers in Brazil has been on an upward trend since 2016, increasing from 796,700 in that year to more than 1.26 million. Throughout the period under consideration, the number of women among the unemployed who were not looking for work was higher than that of their male counterparts, although in 2022 the number had decreased compared to 2012, when there were more than one million discouraged female jobseekers.
