Debt delinquency share U.S. 2022

In almost every U.S. state, debt delinquency in 2022 was much higher in communities of color than in those with a majority white population. Hawaii was one of the few exceptions, where the share of people with debt in collection was higher among white communities. In the United States overall, over 35 percent of people with a credit bureau record in communities with a non-white majority had debt in collection.
