Percentage of people connected to wastewater plants in Europe 2020, by country
The percentage of people in Europe connected to wastewater treatment plants varied considerably from country to country in 2020. In general, most of the countries had a rate of households connected to wastewater treatment plants above the 80 percent range. The percentage changes drastically in eastern parts of Europe, where the connection rate can drop below 50 percent. For instance, only 15 percent of the Serbian population were connected to a wastewater treatment plant in 2020.
