Losses caused by counterfeit credit cards in Japan 2014-2023, by region
In 2023, losses caused by credit card forgery reported by Japanese companies amounted to around 310 million Japanese yen. Losses occurring outside of Japan amounted to about 240 billion yen, accounting for the largest share of damage. The total amount of damage caused by credit card fraud increased to about 54.1 billion yen that year.
