Share of hospital care in health services expenditures in the U.S. 1980-2020
In 2020, hospital care represented just under a third of all health services and supplies expenditure in the United States. Since 1980, the overall health services and supplies expenditure spent on hospital care decreased in the country. The distribution of the U.S. national expenditures for health services and supplies in 2020 shows that physician and clinical services were also an important source of expenditure.
