Japan: share of married women with family caregiving experience by age 2022

According to a survey conducted in July 2022 among married women in Japan, over half of the respondents aged 60 and above had experience with providing care for a family member. Around 15.5 percent of respondents aged 60 to 69 reported currently providing care for a family member.

Questionnaires were distributed in person and, in exceptional cases, mailed to absent households. Completed questionnaires were collected in person or submitted by mail or via the online survey system of the government.
