Willingness to use shared autonomous shuttles 2022

In December 2022, a survey in selected markets across the world found that among the roughly two-thirds of respondents who were interested in using autonomous shuttles, a little under half were interested in the cost advantage while a little over half were interested because of the positive effect on congestion. Meanwhile, 30 percent of all respondents indicated that they had no interest in using autonomous shuttles.

The survey presented a scenario where passengers of autonomous vehicles would share the vehicle with a maximum of two or three passengers, a maximum of 15 percent additional travel time, and at a 30 percent lower cost.
