The Red Dog Mine located in Alaska and owned by Teck Resources was the largest lead mine in the United States as of 2022. That year, Red Dog Mine produced an estimated 85,000 metric tons of lead. In a distant second place that year was the Sweetwater Mine located in Missouri, with an estimated production volume of approximately 37,000 metric tons.
