Public K-12 teachers who would carry a firearm at school U.S. 2022, by gender/ locale
According to a survey conducted in 2022, 19 percent of public K-12 teachers said that they would choose to carry a firearm if their school implemented a program allowing teachers to be armed in the United States. However, male teachers located in rural areas were most likely to share this belief, at 30 percent. In comparison, only 12 percent of female teachers in suburban areas said that they would choose to carry a firearm at school.
