Emissions reduction pathway in Canada 2005-2035, by economic sector
Canada's oil and gas sector emissions are projected to decrease by 24 percent by 2030, relative to 2005 levels, under the "additional measures scenario". This would see the sector's total emissions fall to 128 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e). The electric power sector is projected to record the largest emissions decrease among Canada’s economic sectors between 2005 and 2030, at 83 percent. Canada is aiming to slash its GHG emissions by 40 percent from 2005 levels by 2030.
