Japan: estimated number of manga otaku 2023

Based on a survey conducted in Japan in July 2023, the number of otaku in the manga segment was estimated at 6.74 million people. According to the same survey, manga otaku on average spent around 19.6 thousand Japanese yen per year on their hobby.
